To ALL MY PAGEANTRY FRIENDS #MAO #MUO #MissUniverse #MissUSA
Proud of the Pageant Industry
Don’t get me wrong! I grew up loving #MissAmerica! In 1995 it was the first major nationally televised pageant ,yes,Pageant
I ever attended... it was the 75th Anniversary and I met so many wonderful people who I hope will still be my friends today!
I briefly volunteered on the local level and attended a few more live Miss America crownings when held in Las Vegas and met
more wonderful people! I tried doing more, but the then California Director, informed me that while he appreciated my interest.....and
my willingness to volunteer despite my physical disabilities, he simply didn’t know what to do with me.
Then, while attending Miss California USA, I met Paula Shugart, President of Miss Universe Organization, thanks to Keylee
Sanders, Paula knew what to do with me! Thus my #MUO adventure began... no hard feelings...I loved both systems, and I understand
change. Even reinventing yourself, but denying, who you are, who you were, is not the answer, it sends a message that you’re
embarrassed about creating more than 90 Years of history....
You May be embarrassed by yourself, MAO, but I never will...and
I’ll never apologize for that! I’ll leave it to you!
Wow! I don’t get #GretcheCarlson leadership style...maybe Miss America 3.0 or back to 1.0 but 2.0 is NOT the
#MissAmerica I love and I LOVE #MissAmerica! ❤️❤️ How can an Organization who
chooses to deny freedom represent America?
